These are our Primary Product Categories, all chemical ratios and combinations can be customized to address any production issues or stimulation needs.
Acidizing Additives
In the acidizing process, many different products are utilized to ensure a successful treatment. These include such additives as iron control, corrosion inhibitors, nonemulsifying agents, antisludge additives, gelling agents, oil/acid emulsifiers and viscosifiers, friction reducers, scale inhibition, clay control, extenders, asphaltene dispersants, etc. One of the largest sellers is an all-in-one acid additive package that incorporates all necessary acid components in one single product. The company supplier not only has several excellent products in each of these categories, but have developed many of the chemistries used in the acidizing industry today.
Antimicrobial Agents
Microbes/bacteria/fungi are all problematic in the oil and gas industry. Antimicrobial agents typically include gluts, quats, THPS, DBNPA, MECT, Dazomet, and many others, or combinations of each. The company not only carries each of these types of antimicrobial agents, but has also rolled out a new “green” biocide.
Corrosion Inhibitors
Corrosion is the most commonplace deterrent to efficient production of hydrocarbons. Corrosion comes in many forms and caused by many factors. The line of production corrosion inhibitors have been third party tested to be the most effective in the industry. Any problem that is corrosion related has a solution, including oil soluble, water soluble, weighted, iron dispersing, packer fluids, etc. Corrosion issues created by CO2, H2S, FeS, dissolved solids, oxygen, etc. are all routinely controlled via the company corrosion inhibitors.
Demulsifiers
Emulsions are commonplace and very misunderstood. It has been determined that a stable emulsion can withstand as much as 2,000 psig differential pressure in a formation. It is company philosophy that whenever solving problems in the field, emulsions are given due consideration, regardless of the issue being resolved. The company works on the preventive side as well as the demulsification side of emulsion issues. With over 60 demulsifiers and tank bottom compounds in the arsenal, all emulsions, regardless of the phase or stabilizer, have a solution. The company has newly developed a series of water soluble demulsifiers that are as effective as the oil based, but are much less expensive to the customer.
Foamers & Defoamers
Foamers are essential in the lifting of well fluids in low bottom hole pressure wells – most generally low pressure gas wells. The fluid that accumulates in the wellbore can be either water or oil. In order to lift these fluids to surface, foamers are utilized to insert bubbles in the fluid. The fluid will rise due to the lighter weight and the bubble expands creating lift. The company has a complete line of foamers for water (regardless of the gravity or chlorides) and oil. If necessary, scale and corrosion inhibitors can be part of the foamer package. Besides production foamers, the company incorporates foamers for air drilling, stimulation, fracturing, etc. The company also carries a full line of defoamers to break foam that is stabilized or causing emulsions. Fracturing and stimulation foamers are also available.
Formation Cleaners
Often, multiple problems exist within a wellbore or formation that requires several products to remediate. As a tremendous cost savings to the customer, the line of FCU products, or formation cleaners, tackles these multifaceted problems with only one product. For example, FCU-195 removes carbonate scale, sulfate scale, iron sulfide, paraffin, asphaltenes, emulsions. and formation wetting within one product. Other issues, such as gel damage, solids damage, and bacteria are handled with other product combinations. FCU-100 is a nonacidic breakdown fluid often used as a perforating fluid to ensure clean perforation tunnels.
Gas Well Enhancement
Gas wells have their own unique set of problems, such as water blocks, swelling clays, dry imbedded asphaltenes, and water sensitivities. Besides these, the ones seen in oil wells are also possible. The GE series of products are designed with a common thread – removal of water blocks and giving a residual or inhibitive effect post treatment fluid recovery. The product line is designed to remove any and all of the above noted issues associated with inadequate production. Before a refrac is pumped on a gas well, one should consider pumping one of the gas enhancement products, because the failure to produce expected gas volumes may be a simple water block.
Gelling Agents & Friction Reducers
The company has a full complement of friction reducers used in fracturing, acidizing, coil tubing operations, drilling, and drag reducers for pipelines. On the fracturing and coil tubing operations, the company has anionic, cationic, and nonionic friction reducers as well as specialized friction reducers for high chloride brines. DR-905 is a drilling polymer that keeps the hole stable, assists in removing solids thus preventing drill pipe sticking, and aids in penetration rates. SDA-95 is an example of an acidizing gelling agent that is solids free and develops in situ gel strength as the HCl spends, thus permitting better penetration and zone coverage. GH-942X is a gelling agent used as a diverter at the perfs as well as in situ diversion.
Iron Sulfide Removal
The series of AID and ID product lines are iron sulfide dispersants that break down the iron sulfide molecules into their smallest particles (as small as 1 micrometer), thus permitting ease of flow through the formation matrix. When used in a squeeze application, iron sulfide deposits are reduced in size and flowed out of the well. Iron Sulfide regrowth is inhibited for as long as 18 months. The AID and ID product line can be used in producers or injectors and have been used to clean filters on disposal wells. Green versions of these products are available.
Paraffin & Asphaltene (Removal & Inhibition)
With over 80 products dedicated to paraffin and asphaltene removal plus inhibition of same, the company supplier has become the leader in providing solutions to hydrocarbon damage. Extensive testing is done on each hydrocarbon damage sample to ensure the proper product is incorporated in its removal and inhibition. Besides hydrocarbon damage removal, the Parene series of products also provide a multitude of other benefits, such as demulsification and wetting. Other products can be incorporated into the uniquely designed Parene series to offer other solutions in concert with the core hydrocarbon damage removal. The latest R&D effort has resulted in Parhib-761, which is a water soluble paraffin inhibitor that is achieving successes greater than 95%.
Pipeline
The company has numerous pipeline products that are used in corrosion protection, friction reduction, oil viscosity reduction, pipeline cleaning, hydrocarbon damage removal, scale removal and inhibition, and scavenging. The unique friction reducer also doubles as a corrosion inhibitor, thereby reducing costs while reducing friction pressure – thus permitting more oil flow.
Remediation
The company carries three products for soil remediation – ReVive W, ReVive O, and BC-3, each with its own special place. ReVive W is for brine water spills. ReVive O is for oil spills. BC-1 is also for oil spills, but is more of a pooler and penetrant deep into the soil to “float” the oil to surface. This requires a hole to be dug in the center or low spot of the spill for collection of the oil as it is pulled to surface. The ReVive series does not require removal of the soil, which is a huge cost savings to the remediation process. The soil should be tilled before applying the ReVive and watered. The soil is revived and vegetation is apparent in the next growing season.
Scale Removal & Inhibition
Scale comes in many varieties with the most common in the form of carbonate, sulfate, iron sulfide, and silicates. Removal products are determined by the scale identified. Inorganic and organic acids are the most economical method of carbonate removal. Sulfate scales are more difficult to manage, but the company has both dissolvers and converters for this type of scale. The company has a product dedicated to barium sulfate removal, and has been tested by third party labs to be the premier product on the market. Iron sulfide has been previously discussed in an above section, while silicate removal is handled by a new SGB green technology. Inhibition is with one of three types – polymeric, phosphonate, or ester. Silicate inhibition is done via a different method which is a trade secret.
Scavengers – H2S, CO2 & O2
The company has a full compliment of H2S, CO2, and O2 scavengers. All three scavenger types can be pumped continuously or via tower application. Not only does the company carry the triazine type scavengers, but the company supplier has developed an option to triazine that is cost effective and is especially useful in scavenging H2S from transport trucks. Recently, the company supplier has concluded its development of a green scavenger that produces no solids and is pH neutral. This new development will permit scavenging in places where one was taboo – like squeeze applications in a formation.
SWD/Injection Well
The company supplier has developed several unique products for SWD or water injection wells. AID-26, InjectAid, ANEG-47 are just a few of these type products. AID-26 and InjectAid are typically added prior to the gun barrel. These products will clean the tank battery, increase filter life, and reduce injection pressure on the injection well – all at a low ppm injection rate. ANEG-47 is designed to improve injection well performance and increase the production on the offset producers. ANEG-47 has been responsible for 25% production increases on many injection/producer combinations.
Water Clarifiers
The company carries a line of water clarifiers that are used in many applications. These products are used on salt water disposals, production wells where assistance is needed in the demulsification process, frac water cleaning, and in solids removal. These products are used in low volumes with exceptional results.
Water Conformance & Casing Repair
The company supplier has developed several products for water conformance and casing repair that does not require drilling out plugs. The water conformance is designed to cut water production while maintaining oil production – resulting in a cost savings of hauling water.
Miscellaneous
The company has numerous products that are stand alone and do not necessarily fall in a category listed above. For example, BC-3 is listed above as a remediation product. However, the product is well known for its ability to remove asphaltene deposits from solids. Oil sands are especially ripe for BC-3’s application. Other applications that have found to be very successful are in workover fluids. Clay stabilizers, KCl substitutes, salt inhibitors, and synthetic acids are examples of some of these other type products. HFG-626 is a green HF replacement and is used to remove silicate scale as well as creating and improving permeability in sandstones or zones that has clay damage. Many others are available that are unique to an application.
Special Note*
The company has a complete line of “green” products in every category. These type products are a focus on the company supplier’s R&D efforts.
